2008 Icelandic Open
The Greater Chicago Icelandic Open
This year, we have a great new course to play for the 4th Greater Chicago Icelandic Open. Good location, same price, and lots of prizes. The date is Sunday the 27th of July, 9 holes, Best Ball Texas Scramble format at Highland Woods (2775 N. Ela Road, Hoffman Estates directions). Best Ball is our new format. We'll still play in teams of two, but players play their own ball. Teams MUST use a minimum of three holes from the other player. Everyone can play since this is the Texas Scramble format, no stress. Texas Scramble, means teams of two players and we'll find you a team mate if you don't have one.
Highland Woods is an excellent course, and I'm proud to keep the entry fee the same as before, $35, per player, including a golf cart, and this time, range balls. So plan on showing up early for a warm up on the driving range, and some putting and chipping. We've reserved tee-times for 24 players, first come first served, we sold out last year, it's loads of fun. We'll have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place; longest drive; closest to the pin; hole in one, and more. We'll have the awards ceremony, food and drinks at the club house, right after we finish.
Mail in your check today to secure your spot.
Please make the check payable to the Icelandic Association of Chicago and send to:
